Plan the Enclosure Around Your Equipment
Review data center partitions, ceiling systems, doors and service openings as one enclosure package. AILV supplies the agreed materials; K-STONE coordination or site support is defined around the facility team’s design and responsibilities.
Discuss Your Enclosure Scope
Which Spaces Need an Enclosure?
Start with the room function: equipment areas, technical support rooms, corridors or work zones beside an operating facility. Match partition positions, doors and observation needs to equipment access, maintenance routes and the operator’s separation requirements.
What Should Be Coordinated?
Coordinate wall and ceiling layouts with cable routes, pipework, ventilation openings and access panels. Record the responsible party for each opening, support, seal and final closure before materials are released for manufacture.
Where Does Contamination Control Fit?
During construction or refurbishment, discuss work-area separation, dust-producing activities and protection of adjacent equipment with the site team. The agreed enclosure details should support the project’s installation sequence and cleaning plan.
Agree the Supply and Interface Schedule
A comparable data center enclosure quotation begins with marked-up drawings and a responsibility schedule. Specify the assembly and the interfaces together. Include the facility’s material approval process and required product documents so the proposed package can be reviewed before ordering.
| Work Item | Enquiry Information |
|---|---|
| Walls and Ceilings | Room dimensions, panel arrangement, facing, selected assembly, finishes and supporting details. |
| Access and Openings | Door sizes, equipment movement, viewing windows, service penetrations and maintenance access. |
| Specialist Interfaces | Approved airflow arrangement, cable and pipe routes, fire requirements and responsible designers. |
| Delivery and Site Work | Project location, phasing, packing needs, installation scope, cleaning and acceptance records. |
Data Center Enclosure FAQs
Is a Data Center the Same as a Cleanroom?
A data center has operating requirements set by its equipment and facility teams. Enclosure selection should follow that brief; the room name alone does not establish an ISO cleanroom classification.
Can AILV Supply Enclosure Materials Separately?
Yes. Discuss the wall, ceiling, door, window and accessory schedule with AILV. Any K-STONE installation or coordination work is identified separately in the quotation.
Does the Package Include Cooling or Power Systems?
The enquiry must identify the responsible designers and suppliers. Cooling, power, fire protection and controls are separate work packages unless the agreed contract expressly includes defined interfaces or work.
Can an Existing Facility Be Refitted?
Start with a survey, proposed work area and operating restrictions. Review temporary separation, access, service penetrations and the installation sequence with the operator before confirming the enclosure package.
